A big part of the Deer Creek floodplain overhaul that Brentwood is working on is creating a series of green spaces to soak up floodwaters. One of the most ambitious parts of the plan is a “super-playground” that features a winding water feature, rock climbing walls and a 110-foot zip line. The base cost of the play area was initially estimated at $5 million, with an option to add in extra features like a boardwalk and a system to capture and reuse water.
