Veterans Park in Brentwood Is Getting a Makeover

A beautiful 97-acre park that features rolling hills, a pavilion, camping areas and a community recreation building. Veterans Park is a popular spot for family picnics and other outdoor activities. Its large playing field is great for children and adults alike.

There are lots of things to do at Veteran’s Park, including swimming, bocce and even a skate and water park! The park is also perfect for family reunions and birthday parties.

The city of Brentwood is renovating a popular set of senior bocce courts at Veterans Park. The project includes improving the court’s design and making it more accessible for people with disabilities.

This renovation is being funded by local grants from the East Bay Regional Park District and is expected to be completed in time for the upcoming season. It will include a redesigned bocce court with shallower sides, wider pathways and handrails to make it easier for players of all abilities to maneuver their bocce balls.

Other enhancements to the courts include installing a few additional shade structures and widening the sidewalk between the courts. The project, which is estimated to be completed by the end of March, will help players who may need extra protection from the sweltering summer sun.

It will also be more accessible to people who are elderly or have mobility issues, according to June Peters, the president of the bocce ball groups at Veterans Park. She said the new design makes it much safer to play bocce and will prevent some players from suffering injuries due to the court’s lack of safety features.

In addition to the improvements to the bocce ball courts, the city is also adding several new playgrounds to Veterans Park. The playgrounds will be equipped with a variety of play equipment for kids, including web-like climbing stations.

These new playgrounds will make the park a more inviting place for families with young children to spend their days and nights. In addition, the new playgrounds will have a special playground area that will provide disabled children with a safe place to play.
